Macgregor Primary School landscaping
Scope
To create a natural play space with stepping stones, large boulder rocks and a climbing wall. The project was also aimed at controlling overland water flows that washed silt and debris onto the basketball court.
Challenges
- Sourcing appropriate rocks.
- Challenging site some of which is on a steep grade
- Working in the space within school hours
Solutions
- Makin Trax sourced local select stone for the project that has become the centre piece of the garden
- The natural way the steppers move through the landscape compliments the design intent of a natural playspace.
- The Makin Trax systems and installation of temp fencing ensured all controls were in place and observed for the duration of the project
Outcomes
The Natural Play space is now a resource for play and education within the school grounds. The area will continue to evolve as the plants and trees mature. This project will provide enjoyment for generations of students to come
